Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Kai Möhwald
Dr.-Ing. habil. Kai Möhwald, born in 1961, studied mechanical engineering with a specialization in production technology at the Technical University of Dortmund. In 1996, he received his doctorate in engineering from the Chair of Materials Technology (LWT) under the supervision of Prof. Dr.-Ing. After completing his studies, he was employed as a research assistant at the LWT and headed the “Brazing Technology and PVD” department. Since 2001, he has been Head of the Joining and Surface Technology Division (IW-FORTIS) of the Institute of Materials Science at Leibniz Universität Hannover, based in Witten. In 2009, he habilitated at Leibniz Universität Hannover with a venia legendi in the field of materials technology.
