Dr.-Ing. Michél Hauer


Michél Hauer completed his master's degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Rostock in 2012, specialising in materials engineering and structural mechanics. Since 2013, he has been working as a research assistant at the Fraunhofer Institute for Large Structures in Production Engineering IGP in the Thermal Joining Technology group and at the Chair of Joining Technology at the University of Rostock. He is the main contact person for microstructural and functional layer analyses as well as for the combined high-performance coating centre with arc, plasma and powder flame spraying processes. He is currently working on the implementation of thermally sprayed coatings in various industrial sectors, for example in the field of LH2 tanks, corrosion protection, steel construction and sustainable coatings. Further research activities include additively manufactured coatings by thermal spraying and their analysis in applied research projects.
